Or, really … I should be calling it the Battle of “Mud” Market, because on Saturday we got close to two inches or so of rain. But I digress … it was a great event and I had a lot of fun!
That’s a shot down the fire pit line in camp. Notice the sunny blue sky on Saturday morning.
This is Rachel. She’s our camp cook. I tell you, she is an amazing woman and without her, well – we’d all starve at events.
Here I am … no surprise … knitting. That’s the dress my Mom helped me make, which she really should get the most of the credit for.
Here’s a few of the guys in camp before Saturday’s battle.
The guys are getting ready for battle! Readying their rifles and such.
Now … notice the skyline? That was about ten minutes before it started raining. At which point John, Corey, and I high tailed it back to camp before the start of the down pour. Once back in camp, after the first bought of rain, I decided to take a nap. Rain tapping on canvas is almost as soothing as rain on a tin roof.
I didn’t want to bring my camera out in the rain or the mud, but this should give you an idea.
My shoe is coated in mud, and to the right in the photo … well, the hem of my dress WAS white.
The fun part began when I tried to get my Dad’s truck out of the field where it was parked … in the mud … soaking wet just mowed grass. Yeah … needless to say, I got stuck. Many thanks to the nice deputies who pushed me out!
But I had a blast. These things are always fun, and I get to hand around with my friends that I only see at events.
