Black Friday has passed, people are traveling home from their Thanksgiving weekend, and we have put up the Christmas tree! Speaking of that … Cooley has found it very interesting. Sorry the photos are a little blurry – he was moving all the time I was trying to take these.
Here he is, after climbing the tree. Can you find him?
Oh look … what’s that red thing?
Now it’s time for a nap.
I know … he’s so frickin’ cute it’s not even funny!
On the knitting front, I’m starting to get organized for the coming year. I joined a group on Ravelry called Stash Knit Down 2009, and they have so many great ideas for knitting from your stash. One of the things I’ve already done is the Personal Sock Club 2009 idea. Basically, you pick 12 skeins/balls of sock yarn from your stash (enough for a pair of sock obviously), and pick 12 patterns. Then you match them up and put them in plain paper bags (no label – that’s important!) For every month of 2009, you pick one bag. I think it’s going to be a lot of fun!
The group also helps you set goals for your stash knitting, which is always good for me. So, my goals for December/End of 2008 are :
- Finish at least 50% of the February Lady sweater I’m working on for myself.
- Finish my current pair of socks.
And the group isn’t about not buying yarn for a year as it is about choosing from your stash first. And with the economy in the crapper, I’m trying to pinch every penny that I can.
Well … off to watch Cold Case (it’s running late due to the football game.) Have a great week everyone!
