Or, as my Dad says, 3 days and a wake-up! I can’t believe the wedding is getting SO close!!!! I’m super excited, not nervous, and so anxious!!!
Oh … this post is a little long, so bear with me. This is the first chance I’ve really had this week to sit down and blog properly.
Today was a good day. John and I went to the courthouse to get our marriage certificate. I was really surprised in how fast it took us to get everything done. After that we met with Casey, our photographer, to go over the run down for photos the day of the wedding. I’ve contacted all of my vendors and double checked things with them. At this point, I think I’m good on what I need to do.
Emy came over this evening and we drove down to The FiberSmyth in Woodstock! I spent way too much money, but really, part of it wasn’t even for me.
I splurged and bought two skeins of Malabrigo lace (I’ve been eyeing that for a LONG time!), as well as three skeins of Baby Blatt in a dark purple (it was 50% off), and a skein of Jasper that I’ve been eyeing for a while as well. I also picked up some things for my pal’s next Fall Yarn Swap package, as well as a gift for my wedding photographer (who also knits!)
Em and I then headed over to TGIFridays for dinner. I’ve been craving their Jack Daniel’s Flat Iron steak like it’s going out of style! After dinner we went for Knitting Night at Never Enough Yarn! The gals there …. wonderful people! They caught me off guard with a little surprise party! Homemade cupcakes, sparkling cider, and of course, awesome goodies!
There is a thong from Victoria Secrets, a beautiful wedding photo frame, hand spun yarn that Malia made, and a garter with matching pasties!!! Yes … pasties! Complete with tassels!!
Thank you so much ladies! It was totally awesome and I had a great time!
And now … knitting!!!!
I finished Dad’s Christmas present! I just need to weave in the ends.
- Pattern: One Row Scarf by Stephanie Pearl-McPhee
- Yarn : Malabrigo worsted
This was a great easy project! Not too dull, with enough to keep your interest.
And speaking of the One Row Scarf, I’ve started another for John! Now, it looks small in the photo, but that’s only because of the way I took the picture.
I wanted to start an easy project to take with me on the honeymoon, but I have a feeling I could get this finished while we’re away, so I’ll have to find something else to take with me too!
The Purple Lace Scarf is making good progress. I’m about 10-15 inches shy of where I want it to be in length for pre-blocking. This one may come on the honeymoon too, but I’m not sure. I need to get it finished by October 1st, as it’s a birthday present for one of my co-workers. It looks a little bunched up in the photo, but I wanted to fit it all in!
I’ve also started the Swallowtail Shawl, in fingering weight. This is going to be a birthday present for another co-worker, but I don’t want to say who, in case she actually does read my blog. Now, this photo, in my opinion, is a little crappy and doesn’t show the true color of the yarn. It was also hard to get it to spread out with just me taking the photo, so I’ll see if I can’t get another shot up soon. THIS is the yarn btw, so you can see the amazing colors.
So, yes … I’ve been a busy monkey. Knitting, on top of running a swap, on top of getting ready to get married. I just can’t sit down and relax …. which I need to do, and plan on doing as much as I can on the honeymoon!
Thank you to everyone for the wonderful warm wishes and good thoughts! I really appreciate it!
I’m not sure if I’ll get another post in between now and the wedding, so if I don’t …. have a great weekend and I’ll see you all in Blog Land next week!
