Ah, Wednesday. Hump day to many … the start of two more crazy days at work for me. Now, I have to say, last Sunday was much better than Saturday. I’m crossing my fingers and knocking on wood that the next two nights will be good.
I’ve been knitting a fair bit, despite all the chaos. I’ve finally started on Sock #2 for Tina’s test pattern, and here’s a picture of the first sock. It’s not the best picture. I couldn’t find my larger sock blockers, so it looks a bit wrinkled. But it has turned out perfect, and while it’s a bit big for me, I know someone who will love it. That fern pattern is on the front twice, and up the back of the leg once.
Next up we have two Coin Bags that I’m making for a lady in the Never Enough Yarn knitting group that I attend sometimes (or rather, when I’m not working.) She’s in a breast cancer support group, and these little babies are perfect for holding drainage tubes. So, Mander asked if I could make one, and I said sure. I’ve made two so far. The one on the left is made from some handspun that Tina sent me a while back, and the one on the right is made from Plymouth Boku.
On Monday, John and I met with my parents and Brenda to work on the wedding ceremony. Brenda Barry is a High Priestess and the Educational Director at the Unitarian Church where John and I attend. Since her and Dad are co-officiating the ceremony, we needed to have a big meeting. I came away very happy about everything. There will be some Pagan elements, Christian elements, and then some general ceremony elements as well. I don’t think I’m going to scare my Mom’s side of the family too much. 🙂
Yesterday I made up my mind that I was going to veg out, and boy did I ever. I didn’t set my alarm (on purpose,) and when I woke up it was 1pm! Talk about getting some extra sleep … 15 hours of it! I guess my body needed it or I would have woke up sooner. I ran some errands, which included going to the FiberSmyth to finish up my Bridesmaids’ gifts, swap gifts, and of course, something for me.
I’ve been wanting to get my hands on some of that Silky Wool for awhile now. I purchased the That Little Scarf Pattern from Fearless Fibers, and after seeing what it looked like done in the Silky Wool on Ravelry, I had to get some.
I’ve also got another swap starting up on Ravelry. Since I had such a great response with the Summer of Yarn Love swap, I’ve started one for the fall. Falling For Ewe Autumn Yarn Swap. Sign ups have already started (just yesterday), and I’ve already got 16 people signed up! All the info you need is in the group’s “Pages” section.
So, Happy Hump Day everyone!
