I need more sock yarn like I need a hole in my head. I really shouldn’t have bought more. But when I went over to Never Enough Yarn to pick up needles (I broke my last pair of #2 DPNs as I was working on Sock #2 for Tina’s test knitting pattern,) I saw it and I just had to have it! Cherry Hill Supersock Potluck in ‘Earth’. This is too beautiful and I couldn’t pass it up.
I also picked up a skein on Plymouth Boku (wait … isn’t that a people from Star Trek? Oh, sorry – that was the Ba’ku.) I’ve never really been interested in this yarn until Mander was telling me about it. There is a lady in the Never Enough Yarn knitting group that is a breast cancer survivor, and wants to collect a bunch of these Knitted Coin Purses (pattern is here, and Mander’s picture is here if you have Ravelry,) for her support group. They are great to hold the drainage tubes and bag, and she’s looking to make care packages for some other members of her support group. It’s a great little project and so I picked up a skein. I also have some pretty handspun yarn that I bought ages ago on Etsy and don’t really know what to use it for, so I think I’ll make a bag with it as well.
Tonight, I’m really hoping to start Sock #2 for Tina’s test knitting, although the way work was last week, I’m not sure if I should bring anything complicated with me. Maybe I’ll bring it and the materials for the Coin Bag, and see how it goes.
Last night’s dinner for my Uncle Roger went great! I didn’t get any pictures, mainly because I was too busy cooking and eating. And then a bought of IBS took my by storm (It was my own fault. I’m lactose intolerant .. and I made home made whip cream for the cobbler … I didn’t even think I sampled very much of it … but alas, I did it to myself. LOL) So after dinner, I went straight to bed, and managed to snag about 14 hours of sleep last night. I want more sleep … but I always want more sleep. Let’s hope this weekend at work is a nice, calm, quiet one!
Oh … I also wanted to ask a question … see if anyone can help me out. Out on our deck, I’ve been seeing this hornet looking insect, only I’ve never seen one like it before. It’s big, black, with two white stripes. I thought maybe it was a Barn Hornet since we live near the woods? Any guesses? Regardless of what it is, I’m going to see if John or my Dad can spray out there to keep it away!
