I just wanted to let everyone know that I have a new swap going on over at Ravelry. The “Sole” Food Swap is a one-shot secret pal swap, and sign ups run through the 18th (or until I get 50 people signed up, in addition to Karen and myself.) That’s right … Bridgeknit and I are back!!!
For this swap, the limit is $40 (not including shipping.) You send one skein of sock yarn, recipes, foods stuff, and kitchen gadgets. All of the details are on the group’s swap page on Ravelry. The one big change for this swap is that I am NOT requiring people to have a blog this time. Since it’s just the one package, I thought that it would be fine.
“Sole” Food Swap Q&A
What weight of sock yarn do you generally prefer (fingering, sport, or DK?)
Even though I’ve knit socks with all types of various weights, I tend to prefer traditional finger weight.
What is your favorite type of yarn to knit with?
I like wool and super-wash wool. Some of my favorites brands of sock yarn are Fearless Fibers, Bittersweet Woolery (formerly PhoenixFiberworks), Knit Picks Essential, Pagewood Farms, Cascade Heritage, and Spirit Trail.
Are there any brands of sock yarn that you have wanted to work with but have not had the chance?
I’ve been wanting to try Louet Gems, Malabrigo Sock, and Indigo Moon
What colors do you like?
I tend to like solid colors or self striping. I avoid yarns that tend to pool in their color. As far as actual color, I love blues, greens, reds, and purples. I’m not very picky.
Do you have any allergies (to food, fibers, pets, etc) or diet restrictions?
I don’t have allergies that I know of, other than Sulfa medications and acrylic yarn.
Is there anything else you want your pal to know?
I knit my socks on DPNs, either toe-up of top-down (I’m not picky).

Oh, I’m excited there’s a new swap! I’m tempted to join now that we’re pretty settled in the new house…
You’re very tempting… if you can get my sock mojo to show up before the sign-up deadline…
