Could you make my bad week any worse?
I’m really convinced that this full moon has done me in. I went to pick up my wedding dress, alterations being finished … and it didn’t fit. I was freaking out and almost started crying. So the manager (very sweet lady), had me take off the dress and she re-measured me. The measurements are the same as before, save for losing one inch in the waist. But the agony … my Mom zipping up the dress and having it not fit at the bust at all. I really fought off that panic attack. Turns out the seamstress messed up, and will fix it at no charge to me. Never mind that I will have to travel another three hours round trip and use a half a tank of gas AGAIN in a few weeks. Now, most of the time I’m very cool when someone makes a mistake. After all, we’re only human. But this is one time where I just can’t accept her error. It’s my fucking wedding dress! As my Mom said, while I chain smoked, there is seam allowance, and it can be fixed.
At least I got to buy yarn while I was up there. I picked up a skein of Skacel Merino Lace in a dark burgandy color, and found a skein of Cherry Tree Hill Laceweight Possum (in Gypsy Rose) in the 50% off bin. In addition, I picked up some things for my various swap pals as well.
Have a great weekend everyone! I’m working (double arg), but I just keep telling myself … 30 days until I have TWO WEEKS OFF! I so need a vacation.

I know your pain on the dress front. I had a mental breakdown when mine didn’t fit… and it wasn’t someone else’s fault either. Hang in there honey!

I’m *so* sorry about your dress!! I hope you don’t take it to heart – after all, it wasn’t you, it was the seamstress! Don’t worry , they get paid to fix those kinds of things. Lots of brides gain or lose a ton of weight in the week or two before their wedding and the seamstress can still pull off a perfect fitting dress. I’m sure yours will be fabulous on you when the day arrives
